Alternatively, if anyone finds out if these can be ordered online somewhere, please let us poor non-UK fans know! :-)

As for the new 7" (4 songs):  You know that there is a good network here and that Secretly Canadian is a very honest and decent place.  I probably will get a few copies and I always love to get them out from under the bed.  I give pretty much all of my copies away.  I don't really need to listen to them as long as I'm still writing.  So it goes.  With customs I have a hard time getting bulk records from the USA and shipping is out of control.  I just paid 276.00 pounds to ship a few boxes over here.  I had finished the tour and had a lot of demos that people gave me.  They charged me duty on them.  HMC just makes it up and you have to pay.  I mean a lot of these cd's were just cdr's and with no artwork.

I emalied SC about this 7". It will only be available in record stores in the US - SC Distro will have no copies for online/mail order. I guess that for those of us in Europe and elsewhere the best way of getting hold of one will be from US records stores that have online ordering. I agree with the sentiment of Record Store Day special releases, but it makes it difficult for anyone who doesn't live near a participating store. I just hope that people won't use such a limited release as an excuse to make a quick buck on ebay, but I fear that will be the case.

Hmmm. No SC to help us out over here in Europe... Would be more than willing to skip in on shipping & customs (and ofcourse the actual cost of the 7") for a copy Jason, if you get hold on a load. Probably quite a few other Europeans willing as well...

It might be hard to purchase the physical 7" in Europe, but I read in the Secretly Canadian new sthat "It's Made Me Cry will also be available digitally worldwide on May 19". I think that will be the best we can get around here.

I'm not finding where we can buy the Record Store Day 7" and I really haven't seen anyone site specific stores. I'd ask if a person could mail order one of these from Secretly Canadian but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of getting people back into the record stores?

the website for record store day is, unsurprisingly, www.recordstoreday.com

there's a list of participating record stores there, although i've been told that not every record store will be getting every release. call your local store listed there to see if they're planning on getting it in.

Any international people who would like me to pick one up for you? I'll help out a fellow MECo fan if you can't pick one up at your local record store. Contact me at:

I'll try to pick up a few if they are available here.

Sadly I won't be able to go to my good local shop until the evening. We have a not so good shop that I can go to at lunchtime...I don't expect them to have a good selection though.

I work at a Record Store, plugged the darn thing in an article, and my store may not even get it.

Shit.

Good luck everyone :(

Does anyone know if international record stores that are listed as participating in record store day on the official website will be receiving it? I was assuming that my local record store in Montreal, who is listed on the website, would be getting it, but I called them yesterday and they said it was probably only US stores... now I'm feaking out, I can't wait until May 19th!

it's up to each individual participating store to order the 7" from the correct distributor (i'm not sure who that is in this case), they aren't just 'sent out'.

i know it's supposed to be available in some stores in the UK, so i don't see why a canadian store that's participating couldn't order it if they tried.

We ordered them from our "one stop" distributor who solicited it to us, yet we did not get them. Not sure if they only went to Secretly Canadian direct stores or what. At any rate, I cried to one of the other kind fellas in that article I posted and am now heading home, 7" in hand. Happy hunting all, and for those heading out to record stores tomorrow, why not take a little something to the good folks behind the counter?
